Dr. Moti Ben Shabat, PhD

Post Doctoral Researcher

Dr. Moti Ben Shabat (Ph.D.) is a post-doctorate fellow at the Optical Imaging and Biosensing Laboratory in the Faculty of Engineering at Bar Ilan University, Israel. In 2000, he accepted his first degree in Medicine Laboratory Science (B. Med. Lab. Sc.) from the Hadassah Academic College (cum laude). In 2004, he received his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (cum laude). In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. in Medicine Sciences and Molecular Neuroscience under the supervision of Prof. Bella Gross, Dr. Shifra Sela, and Dr. Eilam Palzur, at the Galilee Medical Center and at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicin of Bar-Ilan University. His research included the study of the effect of hypertension on neurodegenerative processes in the rat brain. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a researcher at the brain cancer in Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer. 

Currently, Dr. Ben Shabat works as a postdoc research associate under the supervision of Prof. Amos Danielli in the Faculty of Engineering at Bar Ilan University. His research focuses on the development of molecular assays to enable detection of biomarkers at very low concentrations using fluorescent-labeled probes.
